What does LIH Olivia’s Place do?

We provide high quality, multidisciplinary pediatric consulting services for local and expatriate children of all abilities, ages birth to 18. At our centers in Beijing and Shanghai, we offer consulting services for speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, learning & behavior support, and psychology.

Is LIH Olivia’s Place a school?

Olivia’s Place is not a school. However, we do offer an early intervention academic program at LIH Olivia’s Place Shanghai.

Is LIH Olivia’s Place a charity?

Olivia’s Place is a for-profit organization that holds giving back to the community as a founding principle.

What is pediatric therapy?

Pediatric therapy improves the abilities of children who are experiencing a developmental delay, as well as aiding children who are recovering from injury. Several different disciplines focus on different areas of development. To learn more, read about our services.

What are your therapists’ qualifications?

All of our professionals are licensed and/or certified in  the country in which they received their professional training and are committed to continuous education in their fields. Learn more about our team.

What is a special needs child?

Special needs children are those with identified health or mental health conditions that require therapy, special education services, or other specialized services and supports. Some examples of special needs conditions are Down’s Syndrome, autism, and dyslexia.

What if my child is typically developing, but is a little behind in some areas – can you help?

Yes! LIH Olivia’s Place has resources to meet the needs of typically developing children who need support in a specific area, as well as kids who have special needs. Sometimes, meeting with a specialist for a few sessions and learning about strategies to use at home or in the classroom to address specific concerns can make a big difference to both your child and your family.

What ages of kids do you see?

Our staff works with children and adolescents from newborn to 18 years old.

If my child needs services, can your team work with him at school?

Our staff works in several international schools in Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Suzhou. Please contact us to inquire whether we provide services at your school.

I have some concerns and I think my child might benefit from therapeutic services. How do I get started?

The first step to answering your questions is to complete an intake form, If the concerns in the intake form warrant further exploration, we’ll match your child with the best clinician to perform an in-person evaluation. The evaluation, also known as an assessment, varies in length and procedure depending on the concern. For more details or to request an intake form, click to read about getting started.

How long does it take to get an appointment?

In most cases, you will be able to schedule an appointment within one week of contacting us. If there is a higher demand for services than usual, the wait might be slightly longer.

Do you take medical insurance?Direct billing services is not available at this time. Instead, we provide a company invoice and fapiao for your insurance reimbursement needs.  Many international and local insurance plans provide coverage for ]our services. Please check with your insurance provider for specific coverage information prior to scheduling services.
