She has a Masters in History and Post Graduate Diploma in Education Management from Mumbai University. She also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology and is pursing a Masters in Education from Karnataka University. She has worked in India as a classroom teacher for over 5 years and at SHINE Academy, Shanghai for 3 years as a Learning Facilitator for children with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, cognitive impairment, and Down Syndrome. Her core teaching areas include mathematics, language, and science. She also has a strong background in creating Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs), behavior management, and social skills.

For several years, Shelly worked at The Children’s Trust in Surrey, UK a rehabilitation center for children with acquired brain injury. Focusing on each child’s individual physical, mental, and educational needs during their rehabilitation program, she worked closely with the Trust’s inter-disciplinary team, on-site school, and local educational authorities to get children back home following their rehabilitation and back into school with the most appropriate support.

She has previously taught children with sensory integration disorders through leveled sensory integration training and worked with preschoolers with special needs to develop their language, behavior, feeding, toileting, music, art, academics, and social skills. She has also worked with children who have ADHD, dyslexia, and math difficulties in an international school learning support team.
